California Institute of the Arts presents
Mutual Blue Futures
Using art to creatively translate key climate strategies and objectives.
The project is the work of an interdisciplinary group of artists, musicians, and designers to creatively translate priority strategies and objectives from the World Resource Institute’s (WRI) Oceans Program to make them more compelling for their audience of political leaders and the general public. The need arises from the fact that while WRI’s ocean research plays a critical role in shaping equitable, forward thinking, and ecologically responsible climate solutions, its findings still remain absent from too many local and global conversations. Better communications and public education expands the reach and influence of WRI’s work. Mutual Blue Futures continues the work we launched in 2022 under the Pando Days program, Sea Studio, and is yet another piece of the puzzle in our effort to build ocean literacy and extend equity through amplifying the research and opinions of a venerable global partner.
