California State University, Northridge presents
OriginLA
Got more homegrown produce than you can eat? Use a digital platform to distribute it among neighbors.

The project aims to reduce waste and increase food security through a new community-driven digital platform that helps food growers share the fruits of their backyard labor with their neighbors. The app is for individuals and organizations alike – home gardeners, community gardens, farmers markets and more – to ensure their surplus, fresh food reaches those who can use it. Because the app is free and super easy to use, it’s the perfect tool to leverage community engagement and make the most of partnerships with local food organizations. The app is designed to pull together an old-fashioned network tailored to your neighborhood’s feel, building generosity, sustainability, and community resilience.
