California State University, San Bernardino presents
Ride Splits: BETA Test
Carpooling for students, by students, for everyday commutes.
Ride Splits aims to make carpooling a more frequently used method of transportation for students on this CSU campus in San Bernardino County.
Developed by students, for students, Ride Splits is a platform that handles the logistics of connecting strangers with similar car routes and coordinates their rides — safely and sustainably, for a fee.
An entrepreneurial initiative developed by student leaders, Ride Splits decreases the need for student-owned vehicles, helps reduce traffic congestion along with greenhouse gas emissions, is the most affordable ride-share option for students, and builds community.
Next steps: continued prototype and marketing development, additional product testing. Strategize for growth.
