Educational Resource Development
This project produces two education modules in water and power conservation and efficiency to be widely shared throughout the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and beyond. Available on the educational platform used by District employees and instructors, the energy module focuses on building design, management of systems that reduce energy use, more efficient lighting and smart electronic monitoring. The water conservation module focuses on both statewide and local solutions like stormwater capture, recycled gray water, wastewater treatment, and groundwater recovery. These educational resources include online videos, news clips, presentations on specific building plans and interviews, as well as related articles and slides to be used independently by instructors. These materials will be provided to facilities managers and instructors, with particular emphasis on training students for green jobs in energy and water conservation.
