Magenta House ’22

Magenta House launched its prototype civic engagement program in water and power sustainability for middle school students in 2022. Learn more about the program at MagentaHouse.org.

In 2022, twelve teachers and administrators committed to the program, representing 4 schools, 11 teams, 82 students, 2,800 hours of learning time, and 9 completed projects. Projects ranged from innovative shoe repair kits to worm composting systems; from educational campaigns to at-school compost programs.

After a successful prototype, Magenta House has signed an official contract with LAUSD to continue its work in schools for the next five years.

How it works

The Accelerator is designed to integrate with existing science, sustainability, English, civics, service learning, and other curricula and fit with a range of learning levels and needs.

The program may be used in-whole or in-part. It may be implemented virtually, in-person, or in hybrid settings. We support both formal and informal learning environments.
